Prix de West is the nation’s premier Western art exhibition and sale showcasing original works ranging from historical depictions of the American West to more contemporary and impressionistic pieces.
After a 44-year career painting wildlife art, Greg Beecham is no less passionate to learn and grow as an artist than he was that first full-time day in late summer 1978.
Beecham considers his life work as an artist to be a journey. There have been a few paintings that have come close to matching his vision, but he continues to press on, hoping to match vision with reality. He believes his talent, opportunity and passion to paint are gifts from God, and that it is his responsibility to pursue excellence in art and be a blessing to those who view his work.
Beecham’s work is included in the permanent collections of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum; Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wyoming; the James Museum in Tampa, Florida; the Briscoe Museum in San Antonio, Texas; the Booth Museum in Cartersville, Georgia; and the Montana Historical Museum in Helena, Montana. He is the recipient of the 2021 Prix de
West Purchase Award, a six-time winner of the Prix de West Wildlife Art Award and a recipient of the Prix de West Buyers’ Choice Award. He has received the artists’ choice and collectors’ choice awards at the Night of Artists Show at the Briscoe Museum in San Antonio, Texas.
Beecham has been covered in numerous magazines including Southwest Art and Art of the West, and his work has graced the covers of Safari Magazine (3 times), Southwest Art (twice), Western Art Collector (twice), Bugle, Wildlife Art News, and U.S. Art.
Married to Lu Beecham for 45 years, the couple have a son and a daughter, both grown, of whom they are very proud.
